Bala Manivannan


Prof. Dr Bala Manivannan is Formerly Head & Associate Prof., Dept. of English, V.O.Chidambaram College, Thoothukudi, Tamil Nadu, India. He is a creative writer, author, translator, soft skill trainer, language and notion consultant, motivational speaker, event manager and environmentalist. His doctoral thesis is on Irish landscape poetry in English under the guidance of Dr Balachandran, Kavignar Bala, Formerly Convener, Tamil Advisory Board, Sahitya Academi. His areas of specialization are Poetry, Drama, Literary and Communication Theories and Concept Creation for corporate sector. He has edited books, to quote a few: Studies in Indian Poetry: From Aurobindo to Laksmi Kanna and Pens Across the Papers: Critiques on Literary Texts.

He has published his research articles in many national and international journals and edited anthologies. He served as one of the Preliminary Panel Advisors, Award Committee, Sahitya Akademi, Govt. of India. He has gained a considerable administrative and managerial skill by serving as the Chairman, P.G. English Examination Board, M.S. University, Tirunelveli; University nominee in several academic panels and inspection committees, P.G. and U.G. Boards of studies of various Autonomous institutions and Universities, environmental activist in many eco-clubs and subject editor in the Editorial Board, Outreach: Multidisciplinary Research Journal. He is specialised in humanising environmental issues and industrial bearings, bridging the gap between humanism and industrialization.
